    In 2009 there were 11k+ deaths due to guns in the US, the majority of them by handguns which is no surprise.

    The amount by assault rifle is so small it wasn't even measured in the study. But here we are....

    In a typical year, rifles kill far fewer people according to the FBI.
    In 2011, there was 323 murders committed with a rifle but 496 murders committed with hammers and clubs.

    I think we need to post armed guards in each garage too.
    Not that it is an epidemic, but the gun free zone laws that were passed decades ago have now turned our schools into killing spree zones...attracting these cowardly murderers. Allow teachers to conceal carry! Problem solved.
    The nuts will go elsewhere to seek their soft innocent targets, but at least our precious children will be safer in school.

    I just realized the FBI story here is ironic for me. My only chronic health issue is an arthritic left index finger, which I know has been caused by the MANY times I have hit it with a hammer. OUCH!
