Seems like you aren't pissing around and am enjoying yourself.  Those two are important for this undertaking.  I wouldn't be able to do it even during my best years.

:2cents: Get rid of the big metal first unless you need $$ right away.  Don't bother hauling the heavy stuff too  car shows unless you know they will sell.  You can usually predetermine that.

Oh, tell the former Owner that one guy here wants to keeeeeeell him! :swear: :'(
HIS: '68 GMC 3/4 ton pick-up truck, '73 Barracuda, '87 Firebird, '01 Jeep Cherokee and finally a '70 Barracuda Convertible!
HERS: 1980 Toyota Starlet, 1995 SAAB 9-5 and then '01 SAAB 9-3 and currently '08 Saab 9-3 convertible!
NEXT IS MINE: purple 2010 Dodge Challenger!!!

Any update?
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I was wondering the same thing. :clueless: I hope he took a lot of people's advice and sold the whole lot to a vendor that could handle the bulk :dunno:

Nothing too crazy.  I spent one more weekend out there going through and moving some stuff.  It is 99% worked out that this will be going to a vendor.

The uncle is fine.  He's in his late 40's I believe. It is just a monetary thing.  He wants to buy a new Challenger.

Ryan

I'm late to the thread, but with not one, but two barns full of stuff and a field full of cars it makes me wonder what the uncle was saving all this stuff for?? Perhaps it was the old "I'm going to restore it .... someday" line where the story ends with the cars rotting away in the field. For instance, the '71 barracuda vert in the first post of this thread - it's folding up on itself and returning to the earth - that's just a tragic loss there! :crying: :crying: :crying:

I know half the fun is digging through the stuff and finding out what's there. Discovering those unexpected gems that you had no idea might be there. So, Ryan, with all that stuff to go through I'm sure you had to have found a couple of "gems" that surprised you and made you smile. Perhaps it was finding a T/A motor, a Hemi block, or something else. With all that stuff there had to be something! So tell us Ryan, what "gems" did you find??
Cheers!

Nothing really rare.  Lots of convertible stuff.

The whole thing is, he used to restore/drive Vert' E-bodies.  These were parts cars in the 80's and 90's.  He needed a fleet to keep his cars running.  This is just what is left over from those times.

Even the 71 Vert wasn't worth saving years ago, the car has no options, Slant Six, Manual Steering, Manual drum brakes, manual top.  3-speed manual on the floor.  Only thing it has is a body colored grille.   He had R/T Challenger Convertibles and a 383 Cuda Vert he only sold a year or two ago.

I got that 69 440 now, that's sweet.  Got a ton of 340 stuff.

I'm not a major vendor by any means, but I have notice with the few parts I do vend that the reproduction market has taken a huge bite out of the used parts business.

This large stash of parts would have been great to find five years ago....but I find now with the AMD Challenger fenders out, and the Metro interior panels, etc....thee used part values have been cut in half.
Last year at Carlisle, Cuda/Challenger door panels were everywhere and nobody was buying....
You used to sell nice decent E Body fenders for $800+ now you're lucky to sell them at all....

I wish all the best to whoever tries to move this stuff, but from what I see, it's a lot of bulky nothing. :eek4:

You're absolutely right.  They are not worth what they once were.  But they are still worth something.

I think it will be alright.

So this means that to buy any of these parts we have to wait for said vendor to acquire the parts from you wait on them to sort and price because you know they will have decide on condition etc. Etc.
