i finally received my 74 chally on saturday and i'll be starting to work on it slowly this winter.

i would love to have suggestion from people who have pass throw this process.

just to avoid maybe some newb mistake ..i don't really know where to start..int�rior exterior, vynyl top, engine bay...

It looks like a nice car. The hard work is already done. I don't think there is a wrong way to put it back together. Just take your time and don't rush it. Oh, and post a lot of pictures along the way.

if some of you want to know a little bit history about the car.

my uncle bought this car ..about 9 years ago in a dealer that also sell old cars.

when he purchased it, the car was blaze yellow and he kept it like that for only a year.

then he started take it appart by himself without any mechanic knowledge.

he then heard about someone that could do the bodywork on it and all put it back together.

so he shipped the car to this guys that had plan to work on the car in his lost time.

he stripped the car totally he repaint the frame, the car also went on a rotisery he shaved the trunk because their was a spoiler (not original in 74) in shaved the hood because there was hood pin.

he painted it in blue ..lucerne blue (that was available in 74)

the engine was completely rebuilt with performance head and cam.

trany was open everything was ok.

he put a posydrive rear diff.

and on and on ..there is a lot of new part on the car..does'nt look like that on the picture but the vynil top is new, i got a new headliner still in the box from year one. some new weather strip.

yesterday i went to his house to pick up all the seat and the rear spoiler that i won't put back.

in resume. the guy had the car for 8 years and his moving out of town so his no longer able to work on the car anymore so i got it for a good price.

i'll post more pics of it and the original sticker that was on the trunk .. seem like a car that was bought in saskatshewan

not much done today i installed the left rear glass and mecanism

does anyone know what are those part.

i wonder if somebody know whats does the sticker mean..

i also lubricated all the door lock of the front door because they did not wanted to lock.

next step.. instalation of the front left window.. here's a picture i took of the left door. last guys who tried to put the window had a bad time doing it.

That bee is the "Scat Pack"/"Rapid Transit System" logo. It came with certain options/packages. You can find more info here:

I believe it ended in 1972 but I am not 100% sure.

The 2 L-shaped brackets are glass stops that control the up/down final stop for the glass and the other two look like brackets that are used to mount the door/quarter trim panel and have a screw run into them. You got some problems with that vinyl roof and I'd call someone who installs them, to try to fix it. There's probably a thread on here about the 1/4 glass and hardware, but a copy of the service manual will save a lot of time and explanation. The rubber seal on the front of the 1/4 glass shouldn't have a split in it, either. Bon chance!

there is already a upper stopper on the glass.. like a red plastic cylinder that is screwed and the bottom of the glass. i'll take a look at it.

for the vynil roof ..yeah make me sick.. i bought it like that..the top is brand new from year one, the guy already cut it and its 3/4 installed so i hope a shop is gonna be able to fix it.

is there a gasket between the fuel gaz filler neck and rear fender ?

does somebody have a picture of their climate box because looks like mine got a problem.

its not me that take the dash appart and i want to know if i have all the part to put it back together.

look like something is missing herei think its an astray put i cant find it.

is there something above the wooden trim ?

is this something that belong to the dash assembly.

if i resume ... is the dash in two parts ? the metal frame and the upper pad. or there is also a lower pad ?

Yes that is where the ashtray mounts.

These two go together. The second picture is the light bar. It screws in to the underside of the pad. The gauges are not lit in the cuda/challenger. The light bar shines a light down on the gauges.

No it actually mounts in the front of the car as part of the lower grill/valance

I dont think your heaterbox has a problem. If I remember correctly, there`s a square piece of foam supposed to sit between the box and duct.
