:wavingflag: I have had very good homemade moonshine and some really horrible  stuff. So today I wandered into the ABC store and saw Tim Smith stuff and figured why not...... UMMMM unless trying to start a fire it tastes like the stongest burning tequila from hell. But at 90 proof it will get the job done.  I will stick to my Jack or crown at that price

The strongest stuff I ever tasted was Everclear 190 proof and Strohs Rum at 160 proof.

Needless to say, both were virtually undrinkable.
Eating a Habanero pepper would've been less torture-some.

Missouri members help me out here. Didn't the state law on homebrewing and winemaking just get re written to allow legal home distilling? If other states now have recreational weed,  can home distilling be far behind. Oh by the way, yep I tried moonshine and liked it a lot.

Looks like the Feds won't let go of their ability to collect tax on distilled product:

Yeah, I read up on it. The state of Missouri allows legal distilling for home/ hobby. 100 gallons a year! The federal regulations still say no. Think of it like a few western states with medicinal and recreational pot, but remember, weed is available at dispensaries, not sure of the Colorado rules on homegrown. The federal government doesn't mind lawlessness, as long as it's taxed.

Had a hurricane party in North Carolina sometime back in the '80's, by the end of the night the Everclear was being drank straight, by others.
Had great shine in southern Virginia. Rural Retreat area.
