so the outer shell of the UCA bushing is still in the arm?  That is what it looks like in the pictures.

If so, I am pretty sure that needs to come out!

Yup, if you're putting in offset bushings, you need to remove the old bushing shells from the UCA.

If you install poly bushings, the shells stay in, same as the lowers for poly bushings. But the rubber bushings come with shells, so the old ones must be removed.

UCA bolts came in today. Prepped the area tonight with some undercoat, painted it 2 days ago.  the purists will have to forgive me. she gets DRIVEN!  :burnout:  Tomorrow morning the plan is to start hanging parts. Hoping it all goes smooth. You never know when mixing parts from different manufacturer.  :dunno:

Yesterday, we put the in LCA's and the strut arms. Right side was very smooth, left was a royal PITA! I couldnt quite the the correct geometry on the strut arm. started prying... not good to do, ended up moving the pin out of the LCA a little.  :clueless: How to fix this???  :clueless: We used the bucket tit on my buddys Kabota tractor, worked like a charm. Ended up positiong the LCA and strut arm together then put them in. Upon inspection of the old arm I noted a minor bend. I guessing from a past towing incedent maybe? Not that these cars were put together with great precision anyway. There is no evidence of front end collision on the rails anywhere.

Its hanging loose but the Helwig sway bar was 1-2-3

Knocked the old outer sleeves out the UCA's and pressed in the offsets. sure hope I did that right..   :bigsmile:

OK, this could be a case of BIGS you dumazz...  :clueless: :clueless:  but I could use a little help here. we were going to hang the UCA's tonite.  I have the MOOG K7103 offset bushings. The kit comes with 2 different sized washers w 1/2" holes. They dont fit the bushings or the slots in the car (to fit flat). The hole in the bushing is bigger than 1/2" The bolts would be very sloppy. I dont see how the washers fit in relation to the bushings and if the did (fit) the bushings w the washers would be too wide for the alloted mounting space. What part of this am I missing??  :dunno:

I beleive the washers press in to the hole in the bushing.

You may need a little persuation to get  the arms back in to position, I am not saying beat the hell out f them, but I think it is a tight fit.

Jason, thats kinda what I thought originally, but they dont come close to fitting. I'm afraid if I force them in,  the holes will be to small for the bolt to fit through.  :dunno:  I figured somebody here has to have done this.....  :clueless:

I have not done it...but takign mine aprat I did have to pop the washers off with a screwdriver, they fit pretty tight too!

I think the bolt will fit after you press them in!

Jason is right, the washers fit inside the bushing. Yes it's a tight fit, you won't be able to push them in with your hand. I pressed them in with a vise. A little awkward, but I held the uca (with bushing installed) with the inner and out bushing washers in between the jaws of a vise then tightened it up until the washers bottomed out.
