He's already bought the original block, it's being rebuilt right now in time for Carlisle.
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

Mom found another picture of my dad's first Plum Crazy T/A, that's him standing next to it. Picture taken around 72-74.... It was a 4 -Speed, I wonder if it's still out there somewhere....

I'd love to see this as an article. This is the best story I've think I've ever read! Simply amazing! It's amazing what can happen when people help each other.

I totally missed the thread and all the excitement, but wow!

Just got caught up on this thread. What an awesome story. I too, am trying to hunt down my dad's old mustang grande.   I know, I know, not a mopar, but it holds a special place for me. Anyway, this story is so cool and it's so amazing that you found the original block as well. If you make it to Carlisle, I can't wait to see this car in person and meet you. Congratulations!

Back on the road again, now numbers matching. Picked it up last night, detail tonight and hit the road for Carlisle early tomorrow morning!!! I'm stoked to meet everyone and see some sweet cars!

Righteous. Did you decide to drive or trailer?

I'll be pulling it in an enclosed trailer, my wife is a nervous wreck every time I drive it!

Just plain awesome. I agree this car and your family story needs to be picked up by a magazine.

This is no doubt the greatest story I've heard ...
Congratulations on tracking down the car & the matching numbers block --- an extremely difficult task in position, but it seems that all the stars aligned for you my friend.
Your dad is definitely smiling down on you bud
I'd love to see this story in a magazine

Oh you know I'm dying to have it, will probably have to wait until I am older and have more money.  Barry sent the guy an email, also said that the guy was very fluent in English and Barry didn't have much correspondence with him because of this.  Barry said this one was new to him in 2005 when he was contacted by the owner. Fingers crossed that it survived the Earthquake and tsunami.
I'm confused
A year older and bam you have enough for the car......... Must have been a VERY good year
