Wiring Harness Questions
« on: December 22, 2012 - 12:23:52 PM »
Just curious - I believe there are "sub-harnesses" (or whatever term you want to use) for different options that were installed.    For example, for the A01 light group, was there a separate "sub-harness" ?      Is it the same for other "options" - 3 way wipers, stereo speakers, etc?   How many are there?   OR - did Ralley dashes get all the sub-harnesses even if the options wasn't provided on the car (but it came with a Rallye dash?).      For non-rallye dashes -- did they ever come with optional "sub-harnesses? -- like the A01 light group?    Anybody got pics of these different "sub-harnesses?"

Thanks - and Merry Christmas to ALL

For the radio I know there are several different harnesses depending on the speaker set up.
3 speaker (stereo) dashes use a different harness than the single speaker (mono) dash.
There is a second harness that runs to the rear of the car.  Stereo has wiring for 2 rear speakers, while mono has wiring for only one.
However these harnesses never connect directly to the main harness, they connect to the radio, speakers, crossover box, fader.
No matter what option you selected the main harness connection to the radio was standard (a red and orange T shaped connector for the radio power and light).

Thanks Jamiez....    I am more familiar with the radio/speakers than other "options"

One area I'm especially interested in is the A01 light option.... and the delayed light on the steering column (and interior lighting and map lights, etc.    Also - if this was a separate (and different) harness for the rallye vs. standard dash (especially for '70's)   I assume you could get the light package without the rallye - but unsure).

Just thinking it would be nice to have a pic of what these "other" harness look like .....and what they include....
