I have 255's on the front of my Challenger. 5" backspace on 9" x 17 wheels. No rubs. 10.1" wide rubber.
Yes, but how TALL are those 255's? With the sidewall options for a 17" wheel, I bet they aren't 27" tall.
thx for your help guys, yeah dodj i think 26" looks to small i took a 27" tire and just mocked it up and it looks much better. also im not sure but hopefully a alterkation front puts everything in the stock location. thx
The Alterkation has different sizing and offset requirements than stock. I don't have an Alterkation myself, but I know that what fits a stock Challenger will not necessarily fit an Alterkation. The backspace requirements are different for sure, and there are diameter limitations as well depending on your brakes. Bill Reilly is a great guy, ask him what will fit and what won't
As far as a 27" tire, I think you're going to have issues. That's a VERY tall tire for the front. Width isn't an issue, I run 275/40/17's. But, that's not even a 26" tall tire, and that's stock except for Hotchkis UCA's. With a 27" tall tire, you're going to have to sit pretty high in the front to keep it from hitting things. I'd guess that at the very least, you'll have to pull your inner fender braces, and you're still going to sit high in the front. Think lowering the front end, not taller tires.
