You gonna patch and change the front turn signals and put in the gill piece on the fenders?
That's cool.

Jimmy, did you do the same thing or was your front fenders also purchased through amd?
You said you were happy with the results, I am assuming that is for all the metal parts?

Unless you just wanted to have original fenders you can sell them for as much or more than the reproduction fenders cost you. Depending on there condition. And you don't have the labor hours to modify them. It really does not cost that much in parts. I have sold most of what I pulled off and have broke even or in some cases done better. My fenders are very nice. I really wouldn't want to hack them up. I would rather sell them to someone wanting a set of nice originals for a restoration project.
Doing a clone I am not worried about originality.

71 fenders are about 1.2k delivered. I got the light and gill patches for about 200.

Yes I purchased the fenders from AMD. And the fit was very good. I was very pleased with the overall quality.

I paid around $1200.00 for the 71's. But when I sell my originals i will break even.
I could have sold them several times already. But I do not want ship them.

So the AMD fenders will end up costing me nothing.

The AMD parts that I purchased were the fenders, front valance rear valance, taillight panel and one door glass that the bodyman broke installing it after painting the doors. The quality and fit of all the AMD parts was very good. If I had to do it over I would purchase the same brand.

I looked for a set of original 71 fenders when I first started my clone projrct. What I found was either needing a lot of repairs and cost a lot of money to fix. Or were so expensive that I could not afford them. I would have been very happy to find a set at this price that you could just bolt on with no repairs. I could be wrong but completely rust free fenders with no dings or damage of any kind seem to be getting hard to find. If I were doing an original restoration and needed 73 fenders, I would buy them rather than the reproduction ones just to keep it original. The price is about the same and you will have to paint either one to match the car. If it's that close to the same price why not buy originals. At least thats the way that I see it. But I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

I would place the value on near perfect originals around 8 hundred to the "right" person.

I'm sure there are buyers out there for the 1200.  But you would have to deal with joe shmo over in kokomo for the shipping.

I'd ship em for that price.

Travis,  do you have any pictures in a restoration thread yet?

It isn't really the price of the shipping. Just a lot of trouble and headache to ship something of that size. And try to box them so they are not damaged during shipment. I would probably spend more on gas than shipping would cost. But a lot less less headaches.

I'm doing a 72 to 71 change myself. I have a thread in the restoration area, but it's around page 4 since I haven't updated in a while. I needed to replace all the sheet metal on mine, but it wasn't by choice it was because metal don't weld to bondo.
