SE overhead console/headliner removal
« on: December 27, 2012 - 10:37:40 PM »
I apologize if this has been covered in a previous post -- I've been searching the forums for quite a while and haven't seen it addressed.  I am replacing the sagging headliner in my RT/SE and have removed every piece of trim except for the stubborn overhead console.  I've managed to get the lens and aluminum switch/bulb cover out unscathed, and have gotten the front two clips out as well.  I know there are two more clips towards the rear of the console, but I don't want to pry on it and discover there's a screw under the dome light the hard way!  If there is a screw under there, how do I get the bezel off to access it?  Thanks for any suggestions!

Well, With a little more investigation I managed to get the bezel out of the headliner board and now I can see the two screws that hold the headliner in.  Looks like I am in business!

Good news!

I'm working on finding out the right bulbs for the S/E G.C. bulbs.

Stay tuned.

I don't want to spoil the suspense, Mike, but they're 1892's.  When I needed one, I had to buy a box of ten, so I have a few extras.

And here I was led to believe it was some type of Dinosaur poop fossil to try and find...

I've installed LEDs in mine.

Here's a link to that discussion and some photos.
