Here is the article with some sample plates......

We have a similar scheme here in Victoria, Australia but the government use it to rip off the hobbyists/collectors, we have to pay AU$495 for a standard plate set and into the $$thousands for vintage plates.

When I bought my new 70 Challenger in late 69 the DMV sent me blue plates w/yellow letters & numbers, I lived in LA, But some of the DMV offices were still using up the black & yellow plates, so I guess for an early car either would be correct, end of 69 is when they were switching from black to blue.

In Cali it would be a black plate with yellow lettering for a 70, my 65 is this way and I don't believe the change to white plates happened until the 80's.

Not true!
They had black plates only until 1968.

Mine was sold in October of 69 and had the blue plate. They always looked odd IMO, maybe ok on a powder blue car though.

My boss and I were driving yesterday and we both saw a blue plate.
He mentioned you can't make out the numbers very well from a distance compared to the black one's.

Does anybody know if this is a limited time offer? Or if this will become permanent if it has enough apps. I read the app, says it cannot be a planned non-op vehicle. My chally is gong to stay non-op for a while but i don't want to miss out on this.
