Perfect reproductions are $800 each. Why wouldnt you price this accordingly? Never ceases to amaze how how disalushioned people are.

From what I've heard the repops will need some trimming to make them "perfect".  Not saying this one is worth it, just saying that either way might take some work to get right.  I think the seller is open to offers.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

l had the pleasure of repairing studs on front rubber bumper and l welded them on ..it did bubble up on me ... l cut out the rubber or (Elastroeric) and replace it with two part epoxy rubber bumper repair works very well. The thing was there was more work in straighting out the bumper then working on the studs ...because something had to break the studs off ? . l spent countless hours and road trips going back and forth on working with a friend who had a 4000 pound press  just to straighten  out  the bumper ...  would l do it again..... Sure for me it is a labour of love.  :screwy:

straightening is a real pita on these.  My car came with one from factory. It took a hit in the middle at one time and didnt line up with the fenders anymore. I gave up after numerous hrs. ( good thing I like chrome bumpers better) I donated the bumper to a fellow member.  Couldnt get myself to ask money for it since I didnt know if it could be repaired. I`d take one with broken studs over a bent one any day  :grinyes:

Cody,  from what I have heard the repop front bumpers are for a 1970 and if you want it to be correct for a 1971 you need to do some trimming.  Is it your understanding that no matter which model year you need it for you still need to trim the bumper to get them to look/fit right?

You might be right.  I have not had any personal experience with them, just heard that there was some small modifications needed to make fit.  Almost any part during a restoration could need a little work to fit.  NOS, used or Repop has to be checked first.  It's nice that there are more than one option as each person doing a restoration has different goals and budget.

I have the usually missing metal bracket that supports the road lamp option if anyone is interested.   Send me a PM.  I believe its worth about $150 to the right buyer?   Can't be many of them around.

Sorry to hop on to this thread, but thought it would help someone out looking for the correct parts.

Thanks .... Chaps.

Hey Everyone .... I was just corrected on the bracket.   It is not for the Road Lamps, but rather a bumper guard that supports the bumperettes for the Elastomeric Bumper.

If anyone is interested it is on ebay.

Thanks .... CHAPS
