Welding up body plug holes
« on: January 07, 2013 - 10:56:38 PM »
I've been thinking about welding up some of the holes instead of putting the plugs back in.
Obviously, not the ones like above the rear shocks.

Is there a good reason not to do this?

I just find that the holes are un needed.

Josh, the best reason I could come up with is that it's way more of a PITA than it's worth. Unless it's a Chip Foose AMBR thing.  :2cents:

:iagree:  Why take a chance on distorting the sheetmetal?
If I cant fix it, it's broke

those are all valid points.

But I am still wondering    why are the holes even there?
they let moisture through the floor eventually.

and yes, i have several other holes i need to worry about first

Remember on the line the cars were dipped.  A lot of those holes were to allow the primer to drain out after dipping.
