Hi,
I have done all of that stripping with one gallon of Marsons Aircraft Stripper.
Put it on failrly heavy, and cover up quickly with poly (keeps from evaporating to quick ,and makes the stuff work harder)
Scrape off, then a quick hit with 80 grit.

Over the years I have made a heck of a mess in my shops with sanding etc.
This time around because I hada restored car in the same shop, I di not want all the dust so decided on the chemical, and am thrilled.
My garage is a 28X28 12' ceilings with overhead Lennox furnace, it is attatched to my home.
I use a respirator, althought the fumes are not overwhelming, the advisory on the labels say the fumes are dangerous and can cause cancer blah, blah blah, I wanted to play it safe.
Good rubber gloves are a must.
If you put on a heavy enough coat, get it on as quick as you can and cover the panel with plastic, it makes the chemical work very quick, and 20 minutes later when you lift the plastic off, 80% off the paint comes off with the plastic, and 10 minutes of light scraping and you are done.
Like I said, I am on my second jusg of this stuff, and know it will be enough to strip the whole car (less than $80.00 of chemical) and no dust.
I would suggest doing a panel at a time versus trying to do the whole car.

** I thought I would mention that I avoid getting the chemical into or under seams. I will work up as close as I can to a seam, but then I use a 3M 4disk abrasive to strip that area.

Any body shop, or auto parts store.
The product I used was made by Marsons.

We've decided to get one more season out of our current setup (an older restoriation that is structurally sound but starting to look its age) to spread the expense out. I'll be following your progress with interest and diving in later this year.

Thought I'd chime in and add some thoughts about this chemical stripping compound.  My bodyman and close neighbor used this stuff on a '69 Mach 1 he's restoring for a client.  I was helping him out around the shop for the better part of the day and he pretty much had the entire body clear of paint by probably 2 hours worth of letting this stuff sit and getting it stripped off.  Needless to say, I was really impressed as to how well it worked.  I spent a LOT of time mechanically sanding mine, while this could be done in only a couple of hours.  Another alternative that you can buy in gallon containers is Marhide's Aircraft Paint Stripper.  I tried the aerosol can of this stuff, but didn't have good results cause it wasn't a thick enough coat.  As already stated, wear a proper mask and skin protection as this stuff burns and I'm sure it isn't good to breathe any of it in. :thumbs:
