The "V" groove is to the outside, and yes, the seam should be about center of the trunk latch.

I don't agree at all!

The two ends meet at the upper top.

Why would engineers from the factory designate to have water and exhaust fumes potentially come back into the trunk?

This issue was brought up by BarryT/A in a thread many moons ago and he stated with pictures as I stated where they meet.

Tell ya what Mike.

I'll put you in my trunk and I'll pour water right where you desecrated my picture and you can tell me if it leaks....

Okay?

this is what i can read in my dodge body and service manual.

the picture is small but you can  save it and zoom in.. but seem like the two end meet on the bottom where the latch is.

Better yet, let's see if you fit.
Let's not throw Poo at each Bryan.

I'm only stating what Barry said before.

Mike

To sum this up simply you have been doing this for the last few exchanges which I don't appreciate.

So if you really want to keep pushing me you will find out how much of a bad idea this will become.

If you feel you have to be right -  try it on someone else.

I'm done!

Byran,

Why the threat Bryan and what do you plan on doing to carry that threat out?
Damage my Cuda?

I'm not here to put you down or judge you. Only to help you know what is truth!
Your innacuracies on what you believe to be true have exposed yourself.

I have helped you out on your glass and door issues before. Remember?
I even helped you one day with your torsion trunk bar with 4speedfish.
How many other attachments I've put here you've learned from?

I have alot of parts I was willing to sell you. Forget that now!
I never want to meet with you again!

Funny you say this as you like to single out my posts and go on the attack.

Apparently you never learned the golden rule.

Look inward to correct before looking outward. - Famous quote look it up.

Good luck on being a purist with a Cuda that isn't even a numbers matching Hemi.

Adios!

Is the correct placement for the trunk seal, and where should I place the seam.

placement is correct. I placed the seam at the trunk latch. I`ve owned loads of different makes classic cars over the years and never had one with the seam on the top side of the trunk. May not be factory correct but then again, what made all e-body trunks rot out...?

:iagree:  Maybe Barry was wrong on this one?  :dunno:  Either way, I would put it at the latch to avoid water damage.

i've cant remeber ever seeing the seam at the top on the e-bodies or the B's that i have had, with water run off with the seam at the top has a greater potential to leak then at the bottom,
I have an un restored challenger that appears to have all of the original seals in place based on being back taped for repaint in 76 and the seam is at the bottom.
