I heard there is a 3.2 gearset for the Dana But I tried to locate one with no success . Maybe BS Cuda @ Driveline can help although they could not locate a set for me . An 8 3/4 does offer a lot of alternatives , you can get 2.76 , 2.90, 3.23 etc

 CP is right, these gearsets are very difficult to locate. I just ran through a few of our supplier websites as well as Jegs and Summit and NOTHING. I will run the 60 and the 8 3/4 3.23 through my purchasing dept tomorrow and see what they can come up with. New suppliers are always popping up but no promises. I do have a good used 8 3/4 set that came out of my car but so far am unwilling to part with.

I talked my friend with a 440-6pk, 4.10 Dana car, into pulling the hemi-18 spline 4 speed and clutch disk and putting in a $100 4 speed OD we found at a swap meet. We got a new dual friction disk from Summit for the extra horsepower. Bought a new throw out bearing at the auto parts store.
  You take the front retainer to a machine shop and have it turned down to 4.80-4.81" for $20, then reinstall it.

We were driving on the Hot Rod Power Tour the next year.   We were cruising around 80 all week long and he loves it.    The Hemi box is nice and safe in his garage for later.   Everything looks stock too except for the one shift lever flipped over on the trans. He has less than $300 in the conversion. 

I have the same trans on my Challenger. Bought it for $75 at a swap meet too.

I need to look into this option . . . I will ask my friend who works at Mancini's and my other friend who builds MOPAR engines and transmissions to see what I can come up with.  I think my throw out bearing is going bad so I need to pull the trans anyway.   I just need the parts.  Thanks for the input!   Sounds like that could work to solve my situation.  Do you have a picture of what I am looking for?

Look for a tranny that has the front and rear shifter mounts on a steel tailshaft attached to an aluminum main case. These usually cam on late 80's dodge pickup trucks sometimes behind slant 6 engines. The front bearing retainer will measure 5-1/4" in diameter.  With this option, you will not have to change your driveshaft of play with angles like you would with a Gear Vendors overdrive.

Rob . . One of my issues is I just bought the hemi 18 spline trans and would hate to just set it aside  .  ....

If you have to keep your new hemi-4sp, The next cheapest way would be to drop in the 8-3/4 like you suggested in the beginning. 68-70 b body is what I use with the dr.diff spring relocation kit. Easier to find than an e-body width. It would drop right in without welding the perches. A new drive shaft is also needed.

I've had an 8-3/4 behind my 440 and I love being able to change gears whenever I feel like it.
