I have had a 70 Cuda Convertible stored in my garage for the past 15 years with intentions of restoring. It looks like that may never happen, so I'm considering selling it. I know that its a rare car, but I have no idea of the value to start my selling process. I don't have pictures of the car, but it's in decent shape. I can add them if you need me to. Below is some information. If anyone can help me find a starting price, I would greatly appreciate it!!

1970 Convertible Cuda - Needs restored!
Factory Purple with White interior and top
Was a 6 cylinder to begin with
383 Big Block motor
Body is in good shape - minor work may be needed
Needs wiring, trunk pans, floor pans
Original seats and top - probably needs new but it does come with the original
727 Automatic Transmission
355 Positive Traction rear end

I appreciate any responses in advance!!! Location is near Bristol TN

Where are you located? It's really tough to put a price on it without seeing some pictures. There is big spread in price between a Cuda and a 6 cylinder Barracuda.

I'll post pictures later today when I get off work.  Thanks for the reply!

Convertible shells used to get $15K+ when everyone was doing the HEMI "tributes", but that was a while ago.  Since it sounds like yours is mostly a complete car with (assuming) not much metal replacement, I should think in the $10K-$15K range.

A 70 6cyl Barracuda convertible needing trunk floors and floors inside the car won't bring much more than $10K in my opinion. The original colour really doesn't make a difference if it's not going to be restored original.

There is a guy on here looking for an E Body convertible project. :dunno:

I don't know about current prices, but this one sold on ebay last year for 14 thousand bucks.  There is a thread around here somewhere that talks about it.

If I remember correctly, this was an original 383-4 car.

As I said above there is a huge difference between Cuda and Barracuda Convertible Pricing that blue one was a Cuda only a 100 or so made. They made well over a thousand barracuda convertibles. I agree with above $10-15k max. $15k would be a complete running car not very rusty that needs a light restoration. Sounds like the car in questions needs metal work and isn't running so probably will be closer to the $10k.

Thanks for all the information. I tried loading pictures, but can't seem to get them downloaded (too large) and I'm not computer savy. The plan is to have the car running before it's sold. This car is in MUCH better condition than the one response that was sold on ebay. Garage kept for the past 15 years.   Thanks again for the information. Looks like Ebay may be the way to go when I'm ready.

Can someone kinldy explain to me why there would be such a big difference in price from Cuda to Barracuda for the vert, especially if there is no matching drivetrain?  Its not like it is a different body or anything. It may have a beefier rear, brakes, etc. but if someone is taking a NOM car and doing a restoration, what is the reason? I couldn't see paying $14k for that blue Cuda and not a six cylinder that doesn't need a ton of straightening work, i.e. that things was obviously in an accident, radiator support was toast and who knows what else was bent up.  Thanks for any insight you guys can share.

It's all about the numbers geeks.  Why is an original HEMI car worth more than a 318, when neither has anything original (extreme example, I know)?  Fewer were made, so in some peoples minds (not mine) that makes it worth more.  To me, the price should be based on what you're buying that day, as far as the CURRENT condition and outfitting.

15k for a running, needing minor work? I think that's a stretch. I know when I was looking, finding anything under 25k was junk! Maybe a coupe, but like it or not "verts" command at least a 50% premium over a comparable coupe. Without seeing pics though, giving you a value is tough. I'd start at 15k and adjust down until you find it's true value, or you decide to keep her. Good luck!
