    cuda hood yes or no

    My cuda came from the factory with out the hood pin option.   I do like the hood pins . So i am at the 50/50 stage , do i put them in or do i leave it plan ?  Do most of as think they like better with or with out pins , cheers. :dunno:

    I like them and I would install them if it was my car. Unless it's a flat hood doesn't look as good then.  :2cents:

    I installed the pins on my 73. Debated for a long time, if you like the look go for it.

    Hood Pins were STANDARD ON ALL 1970 AND 1971 CUDAS !
    They were not optional at all on any Cuda from 1970 -1974.
    They were optional only on 1970 and 1971 Challengers.

    Big mistake leaving them off on most clones made like to above examples. :pullinghair:

    If your car is a 1972-74 and didn't come with them, YES you should add them, nothing looks cooler :bigshades:

    Make sure you do it correctly with the proper "Cuda" only hood pin brackets and proper lanyards etc...  :2cents:

    IF YOUR CAR IS A 1970 or 1971 THEN YES IT SHOULD HAVE THEM FACTORY INSTALLED.  :cheers:

    my 71 barracuda came with hood pins from the factory with the flat hood. its an odd car EV2, black vinyl top, luggage rack, column shift, and road lamps with a 318 and a 904. i like the hood pins especially the factory ones on all the cuda hoods.

    You mean the bracket which is mounted to the radiator core support? The one that the pin screws into. You're not saying all 1970 and 71 Cudas rolled out of the factory with the pins, scuff plates and lanyards installed?

    Are you differentiating between 'cuda and Barracuda?

    I just looked at a 1970 Barracuda brochure and it describes the Cudas having hood lock pins, not mentioning being optional equipment.  Didn't know that.  I thought they were option only type things as you see many '70 Cudas without the hood pins...  :dunno:

    Also for 1970, Cudas got front and rear sway bars.  Challenger R/Ts only got front from the factory for 1970 if I'm not mistaken....  :dunno:

    Found this for 1971 in a Barracuda brochure.  Hood pins were "standard" on the Cudas!  I didn't know that!    :thumbsup: 

    Man, the Challengers got short changed!!!!   :roflsmiley:  And I have a '72 so I'm even more short changed!!!  No big blocks, less HP, less options... :stomp:

    I actually don't like them.

    I'd use them on an aar hood but I personally would leave them off of any other hoods.

    YES I am....ALL 1970 and 1971 Cudas had hood pins ALL BS23?0 and ALL BS27?0 and ALL BS23?1 and ALL BS27?1 cars.

    actually i think cudas built before january 1 did not get rear sway bar.  :clueless:
