Found this for 1971 in a Barracuda brochure. Hood pins were "standard" on the Cudas! I didn't know that! Man, the Challengers got short changed!!!!
Well that is because the fish cars are the sportier of the two.
My cuda came from the factory with out the hood pin option. I do like the hood pins . So i am at the 50/50 stage , do i put them in or do i leave it plan ? Do most of as think they like better with or with out pins , cheers.
If you add the hood pins then I would remove the head gouging safety latch. The hood will close and open easier and quieter.
HAHA I second that! I don't know how many times I hit my head before I took mine off, although I will put one back on my new hood that I'm not putting the pins back on. Maybe hang a big red flag on it when the hood is up.
One good point about having them on the car is if you ever have to leave the car unattended you can put some locks on them. I have done this myself quite a few times i carry a small set in my console just a bit of theft deterrent but may help save some big bucks!
