TA hoodsprings and aftermarket hoods
« on: January 13, 2013 - 12:49:15 PM »
After hearing that aftermarket hoodsprings couldnt hold up an aftermarket hood, I purchased a set of NOS TA hoodsprings to hold up my aftermarket hood. I have spolen with another TA owner who said that his origional springs had no problem with an aftermarket hood. Can anyone else verify this?
thanks

I have an AAR hood and the reproduction 'fiberglass hood' springs from Year One. I bought them because they are to be used with these hoods. They are for sale now and I'll be budgeting in some billet hinges. Your NOS "TA" springs are sufficient but if your friend is using steel hood springs on a fiberglass hood they will, more than likely, bow a fiberglass hood.

I have both an aftermarket hood and springs . I found there are multiple "aftermarket" hood springs. They are not all the same. I do have springs that hold the hood up but I don't use them as it started bowing the hood.

I plucked 2 trampoline springs off my kids trampoline for my AAR hood! They work great, the trampoline on the other hand not so great now!
