New corvette...thoughts?
« on: January 14, 2013 - 08:18:53 PM »
I actually like it, however the front end needs help (headlights are Asian-knock offs of the 2013 Viper headlights), grille is kinda lame, rear bumper a little transformer-like, and interior is a mess, but still...I really like what they've done w/the roof line.

It's not horrible visually. It does look
Pretty close to a Viper though from the front.

Everything I don't like about the camaro from the rear view looks like it went on steroids with the corvette. Yuck.
The headlights are trying to copy the viper styling from last years debut and the hood bump is also a Viper characteristic.

They took the Camaro rear and made it uglier and the front is sorta Viper like.Give me a Viper any day over GMs plasticar.

In general it looks cool, very aggressive compared to the previous body ZR-1.  Although the fron look kind of Ferrari-ish and those taillights are too Camaro for my tastes...  I'm sure it'll perform well though.

I'm 100% in love with this new car!!  I so wish Chrysler would build a car that could even come close to this beast!!  Carbon fiber all over the place, 3000 lbs, sub 4 second 0-60 times, right at 30 mpg on the highway, and on & on.  I'll give you that some aspects of the styling may leave some cold, but not me.  I like it.  Its different enough to be new, but still looks like a Vette.... perhaps something SRT should consider before settling on a body style for the new Barracuda.  I still love the current Challenger, but this car is just unreal to me.  I want one, plain & simple, but I will wait a year or two at least.

I just feel like the LT1 isn't all that great. 6.2 Liters GDI, only 450 hp. Yes the mileage is good. The looks really don't light anything for me. Just seems like a ton of effort, to just get a little extra.

they forgot the round taillights

 :roflsmiley:

I can imagine the engineers after they completed the car and saying, "Geeze, we forgot the round taillights!".  :banghead:

I like the cabin interior.  I does a good job separating the "pilot" from the mere passenger.  LOL

I agree with most responses, Viper looking front, Camaro steroided rear...I love the agressive styling but I would like to see a retro vette come out using the mid year style. But you can't argue witht he results of mpg, etc.
