Missing fender tag, can I find the production date??

Hello
Im new here, a Cuda Im looking into buying is missing fendertag, and has only VIN, I would realy like to find the production date, isthat possible??

If no door tag you are out of luck,unless you find the build sheet.

You could narrow it down to a month/year maybe by comparing the VIN number to others that have a known build date from the same plant, but that's obviously an estimation.  :clueless:

What is important for me is if this car is produced in 1970... it is a 71 model, but as far as I understand many of them was produced in the end of the 70's

1971 Cars were made from Aug 1970 tojuly 1971.

With that VIN yours was 71 for sure

My car is 1B398484 and its date is 5/20. It's after yours but, not that far away.

Given these two numbers...I would guesstimate your car to be built around April 30th 1971.  :drunk:

Take a look inside the driver door. You might still have this VIN sticker. If you do, you will know the built date. What you have to know is, the last six digits are the sequential numbers and it begins with 100001. The smaller the number, the earlier it was built. As you can see, my sequential number is 276921 and it was built in january 1971, so, your sequential being higher, it was probably not built in 1970.
