1970 Cuda Shaker Bubble
« on: January 15, 2013 - 07:27:35 PM »
Hi everyone, I am new here and thought I would ask the experts what a 1970 cuda bubble might be worth. It has the chrysler logo on the underneath side (hard to see) along with a part number. It appears to have been spray painted black on top and is black underneath as well but may have been a lighter color (white?) originally. The side emblems are chrysler and the metal grills have part numbers but no chrysler enblem. I have no other parts other than what you see. It is in  great shape. Thanks for you help! PS not sure if  my pics are going to load?

That's a really bad reproduction, worth a couple of hundred bucks. If the grills are original which I doubt, there might be some money there  :dunno:

Sure...They usually make a mold off of an original....
The tell tale sign on yours is the "thickness" above the vents on the opening. They also have a squarer/flatter look to them.

Here's a picture of an original....

Here's a front view of another original....
I've owned a couple original N96 Shaker cars and restore several. I'm currently restoring a Shaker Challenger for another member here.

OK Thanks, I appreciate the info. How would I know if the metal grill inserts are reproduction?

They should be cast metal with part numbers on them. There are some very convincing plastic ones as well as some very poor quality metal ones....
