It will cost you a fortune to import a "project" to Russia then import all the parts to restore it. Even if you did all the work yourself, it would cost ten times more then buying a finished car or decent driver.

If you want a 71, then invest your money in a real 71 Cuda, not a clone.  :2cents:

A) I wouldn't treat a car as an investment in any event. There are much safer investments where you're more likely to make money.
b) anlauto's statement is true if you want an investment. If you want a care to own and drive, then a cloned 72 drives just as nicely as an original 71.

I've got nothing against clones whatsoever, check out my website, I've owned a few and created a few for customers....

I was just thinking of the huge cost of restoring one of these cars in a different country like Russia where every last bolt needs to be imported. Why complicate matters and increase cost by cloning a 72-73 into a 71 ?... The money you save on your entry level 72-73 project will be gobbled up pretty quickly with the need to import correct parts to convert it to a 71.
Why not just start with a 71 ? Spend more up front save a lot in the end...

It's not about "investment" as much as it is about spending wisely.  :cooldancing:

This is a pretty friendly website with some really nice people.  Feel free to ask lots of questions.

I do not know where it is cheaper to import a car from, the east or west coast of the US.  I would imagine the west coast, being somewhat closer to Rusia than the east coast.

I hope you find a car! Sounds like you want a '71 Barracuda, with 4 headlights and square taillights, as other's have mentioned.  The '71 and '70 cars will be more expensive to but than the '72-'74 years.  As you have mentioned there are classic cars in Finland and other parts of europe but are still scarce.  Funny, one guy here found his dad's old Challenger in Japan!

Which part of Russia you are living?
How much you have to pay import duties and taxes from cars and parts?

Gran Coupe 383 project is for sale in Estonia right now, but it's '70 not '71 and looks like at it's already imported to EU, which is just wasted money in your case.
