I removed my anodizing off of my top door trim with it earlier this year.
It barely worked. Took numerous times re spraying and let sit.
If it can't cut thru a thin anodize;  how will it do on undercaoat?

It's not a wonder fix all.

Wear a suit if you do it this way. You don't want it going on your skin or you eyes.
I seriously don't recommend this avenue of undercoat removal!

Well, this stuf sounds like a whole lota fun!!!  I think I will go back to my origional plan and scub the undercoating with Simple Green etc.

Just to clarify, I do not want to get all the undercoating off, just clena it up and hit with a little paint so it looks decent.

Jason, do as you thought and manually scrape what can be scraped; then, go to Princess Auto and buy one their braided wire cup and flat type brushes for a 4" angle grinder. They sell the grinders on sale for about $20. Use goggles and GOOD leather gloves and HOLD ON to the grinder when using it. Between the 2 types of brush, you should be able to clean up 80-90% of it. I've used them to remove all sorts of the factory schmutz and they work. It's tiresome and dirty, but it'll do the job. I'd use brake cleaner to wash off the small ****e remaining before any painting. Good luck! Ian

While I agree with all of your comments, keep in mind that undercoating is a petroleum product and Easy offs
intended use is to remove grease (petroleum). I too used it on anodizing and it left a lot to be desired. I did miosread
and thought Jason wanted to remove the undercoating.

My thinking is:

Undercoating can be as an 1/8" thick or more.

That's alot!

When I torched my wheelwheels out; I spent about 2-4 hours on each wheel well to de crud.
Once done, Laquer thinner wiped off the remainng amont I couldn't get. Then sanded smooth.

so, have not started on the inner fender yet...but I have got some of the grease and grime off a LCA adn UCA.

I used a propane torch and a wooden paint stir stick like you get from Home Depot.  It stunk like heck, but worked well.  Did you soak the parts above with Simple Green or did your try the Easy Off?  Just curious as I'm getting ready to resto my suspension parts.

I soaked the parts in simple green and water and scrubed them a few times with a brush!  Lots of elbow grease, but it worked.

well, took the day off work today and got some work done on the car.  It was a nice break from my daily grind.

I got the inner fenders all cleande adn preped for paint today.

Started with this...





and ended with this...







Its neet seeing all that origional paint and primer under there!

This weekend I hope to get everything taped up sprayed.  I am going to touch up some of the under coating and they paint it all semi gloss black.  I am also doing the inside of the fenders.

Finally got some paint on everything.

Its not perfect by any means, but it looks better then it did and will certainly do for a driver!!

The paint is actually much glossier then I wanted, it is semi gloss.  I will leave it for now because the car really needs to redone at some point.

Can't wait to get it all back together.  Should have the new K-frame and control arms painted on the weekend and hope to install them soon!
