Has there been ANY changes in the 2013 Challengers appearance ?
« on: January 22, 2013 - 11:45:18 PM »
I have been looking at some photos of the new 2013 Challengers and something looks different somehow. I can't put my finger on it but there is just something that looks a little different for 2013 compared to all the other years of new challenger. have they changed anything with the body styling or dimensions ?

The only thing I can see is in the front. The lower grill now is a "frowny" instead of a "smiley". Shades of the 72-74 Challenger I guess. The front spoiler is now different too, but I think these changes were on the 2012's too.

That must be what i am seeing, i wish they would have made the hood scoops larger like the 70 instead of those small things. i am going to go back and look at the front ends again on the 2010 & 13

They made that change for the 2011 model year.

I wish there was a picture of the 2 different front ends side by side. I tried looking for one without much success.

For those of you who have been ranting about wanting a stripped down "base" model with a big engine, they have done it.  They now have a "SRT8 Core model" that has no frills.  No fog lights, no HID headlights, cloth covered seats, etc.  $39,000.

That might be the small "changes" that you are seeing.

Here is a picture of the cloth seats in the "core" model SRT8.

Core SRT's also dont get active suspension. or the red brembo brakes.

I am not sure you want to give up the Brembo brakes. It is a heavy car. With that price plus may be $2k more can get you a brand new 2012 loaded SRT. Yes, they still have them on many dealer's lots.

Yeah, I personally hate the idea.  I am a fully loaded, bells and whisles kind of guy.  It just seems that every time the topic of SRT comes up, someone always pops off and cries "What ever happened to the good old days when you could get a stripped car with a big engine!"  Well here you go.  They made it.  Now go get one!
