Suspect VIN
« on: January 25, 2013 - 04:28:56 PM »

I've been talking to someone about buying their 70 Cuda 383 recently and I just got a picture of the VIN.

At first I didn't think much of it because the picture was originally upside down but now rotating rightside up it looks to have been obviously manufactured and poorly at that.

Unfortunately I see more half truths or flat out lies in Cuda sales recently....

Yes, seams some allow their morals to go down as the price goes up.

There were some remade vin tags through a chrysler program.
I'll try to find the aar thread.

Notice how bad this one looks.

Go through the thread. Interesting information in there about the vin and tags.

I see NOB too.  The Pentastar is a decal or printed on the plate.  Sometimes that wears off.  Not a great picture to see the details of the numbers to see if the numbers are correct font.  Have to have an expert look at that.  There are also parts of vin on the cowl and radiator support.

Tag could have been repainted.Have you checked for the numbers on the cowl and rad support?

I can't get that site to work for me.
I ran a jeep cherokee that I'm considering purchasing and it said the number wasn't right.

Then I tried a cuda vin and it wouldn't let me through because of the verification code.
Tried like six times.

Too bad, that looks pretty cool.

Maybe you guys don't see what I see because I had to shrink the pic to post here. So I went back to the full sized photo and I see this:

BS23N0B184250

Now from what I can see it looks like someone played with the 1 and the 8 for some reason. The 8 looks like a backwards 3 and parts are missing. Heck the 0 had a piece missing out of it as well.

The one thing that bothers me is that the background is red, the plate was stripped and repainted no pentastar and the numbers look screwed with
and the guy won't respond to any other of my queries regarding cowl and rad support numbers.

Go figure...
