    Subframe connector installation

    I am thinking about welding in some subframe connectors onto my 73 'Cuda.  I've searched  the archieves and found some good info on how I might build them.

    I am assuming that the car should be level and supported on the frame rails as opposed to the axles and control arms. Is there any other special considerationsI should think about before welding them in?  Don't want to weld in a twist :outtahere:

    better off the weld them with the cars weight supported on the suspension as it will sit on the ground , supporting on the frame can load the chassis differently

    I was looking at the bolt in subframe connectors for my sons Scamp and was wondering if the Mopar Performance ones for the E-Body will fit with the boxed frame section on my AAR without cutting.  Not really into cutting. Are there any out there that will fit ?

    you do not have to cut the floors to install the Mopar connectors , I make my own

    With that in mind, does it make any difference with the engine being in or out?

    the engine will change the chassis load , but with the weight out the chassis should sit with less sag in the middle so welding that way will add some extra resistance to sagging in the middle which couldn`t hurt

     :iagree:  Make sure the car is square to start with and you won't have any problems. I have the factory dimensions or measuring points but I'm out of town and could get them later tonight when I get home, maybe someone else has them. Unless the car was very rusty, wrecked or sitting on an uneven surface you shouldn't have any probems. Make sure there is equal weight on each stand and you shouldn't make any tweeks in the body.
