Wanted: 1970 Challenger SE Belt molding clips

Could you post a pic. please?  There are several different ones needed for the door stainless pieces.  The quarter window stainless pieces all use the same ones, I believe three or four for each quarter moulding. How many do you need?  I assume you want NOS ones?

I called them a few years ago on some other parts.  They are about 30 minutes down the road from me.  I thought I could just drive down and pick them up.  However, after hanging up with them, I didn't have a warm and fuzzy feeling.  You don't know what the shipping charges are, and you kinda send them a blank check when you give them your credit card.  I felt like I was going to pay $20 shipping and handling for a $90 windshield washer tank, to have FedEX drive it up the road a half an hour.

I'm looking for the clips used in the center span of the door primarily.  I have been hesitant to pull the molding off, for fear of breaking what ever plastic clips may remain, without a replacement source identified.

I'm told the 70 SE (Jims suggests 71 Challenger is the same) is very specific and unique.  I might still give Jims another call.

Funny I don't usually deal with Jim's, but everybody else I asked said there was no such kit available. I would have to wonder what Jim's selling.

Somebody told me to check with RT Specialties, if anyone had them, they would.  They informed me they didn't have them.  This is turning out to be the most difficult item to source.

I'll give Jim's a call and see if they can give me some more info on the "kit" they sell.  Maybe I can even drive down and put my hands on them before I buy.  I was told there are about 5 different clips that are used to hold that one piece of trim on. 

If anyone had photos of those clips, I would appreciate them.

I'd hate to buy something that didn't fit, and they won't take back.  That's a scenario that could materialize.

I am pretty sure that is the Rip-Off Jims.......

I believe it is a metal winged clip. At least that's what is on mine.

Here are the photo's Dwight sent.  I've compressed them for ease of download.  These were more helpful than you know.  I somehow thought you had to pop the trim off the end clips.  Now I realize they are removed from below.  Saved me a lot of cursing and possible damage to the trim.

I have some NOS ones that are identical to the ones under the side quarter windows(two needed) and along the door(three needed). I obviously have one complete original set, still on the car.

Have the same problem for my 70 R/T SE.I have talked to the same people refered to here by others and also Stephens and Ivestors over the past few months and the only lead is Jims.I spoke with Jims and looking at their pics in their catalouge on line theirs appear to be the same.I ordered on 2-12-13 and should have in couple of days.They claim their kit #DMCK701CH-$89.95, includes enough for both sides includeing 1/4's,but could not answer question about the special ones in front of the mirror.The very front one that receives the small screw and the one to the very rear that has the stud are NOT included in their kit,only the push ins that are kind of S shaped withe the long retaining spring.We will see.I can let you know what is included when received.Good Luck

Clips arrived today from Jim's.The push ins are identical to the originals.They give you enough(16) to do both sides.They give you 2 for the very front and 2 for the very rear of the door moldings.These are not like the originals but do work.They are of the stud and nut type similar as you would use on the rear 1/4 moldings.As for the very unique clip that goes in the holes in front of the mirror,the new push in clip does work in the 3rd hole back but not the 2nd due to the bend in the molding.I made my own useing my old ones as templates.You could mount the molding without haveing that clip.I recommend this clip set.Good Luck
