Rallye Dash Wiring Layout pictures
« on: February 02, 2013 - 10:59:29 PM »
Schematicss get tedious looking at.
Some wires and connectors get tricky and time consuming tracking down on a schmeatic.

If you've have pictures of your dash all wired up, would like to see them.
Preferably the 70-71; Rallye dash layout.

These are from my 71/rallye dash when I was replacing the pad. Car is coming along nicely. Are you going to to have it out this summer?

Thanks for the pictures.

It's out right now getting assembled & re wired up.

Do you have any of the switch panel? I want to make sure the switches aren't unside down.

if your dash assembly is like mine with a fresh coat of paint on it,do yourself a favor and run a ground wire from the back of the gauge housing, not the dash frame,to tie in with the body ground,,that will eliminate 1 major gauge function problem that these cars have,,alot easier to do it on the bench b-4 installation..i tied mine in at the motor frame ground,,along with a ground wire from the gas tank sending unit all meeting with wire from the battery ground..12-14 gauge wire will be your friend..

Yes that does. That explains also the orange to yellow. There was one male terminal with nothing connected on the wiper switch. I can see now nothing goes to it all.

Thanks.

I was able to figure out most of the wiring today on my dash.

A few questions I couldn't find in my book.

Does the switches look like they are positioned right side up?
I already presume the wiper switch is upside down.

What is this plug go to? Was this some option?
What connected to it?

I haven't been able to verify this connector on a schematic about yours.

When I received my re-built Tach, the male terminal was on the upper location,
Mr. Heaterbox I heard has a good reputation. Why would he switch the location of the male terminal vs. yours?

A mistake or difference?

For now, I'm confused what goes where on the tach.
Hopefully I will get this figured out.

Run a separate ground white for your switch panel as well.  It will save you a headache down the road. I ran one from the steel switch backing plate down to the kick panel area and mounted with a star washer/screw

Isn't part of your problem the ground strap on your wiper isn't doing the job?
