Getting Time to Call Dr. Diff: what did you buy?

I'll be calling Dr. Diff later this month (around Feb 25) to put in an order on a Dana 60.

What did you do if you bought from him?
Specs, Options chosen. Advice.

I bought the truetrack , HD tapered bearings and retainers, 35 spline axels, rear disc brake kit with aluminum caliper brackets 3.55 gear ratio, e brake cables.






Rear end was supplied with this cover but I didn't like it...



so I bought this one in stainless from summit auto racing...

To save myself a few bucks I ordered my own rotors that matched the fronts I already had and did my own machining for the oversize bearings. Cass uses Toyota rotors and they need the centers machined to suit the axel hubs. Cass can have this all done for you, I just elected to do it myself.

That sounds like kinda what I may do except go for 3:54. Need the pinion snubber added also.

So now it comes down to the main question:

For now staying with OEM 23 spline 4 speed. But if in the future, I decide to change to a 5 speed (Passon)
Would I need to upgrade my gear in my diff to a 4:10 to get the gear range in the tranny suitable for the Hemi?

It's a 485 c.i 426 stroked with a semi lifted cam. Nothing too radical.

Mike, That is what I did, I went with the 4:10 now and will be updating to a 5 speed (Passon) when they hit the street.

I will live with the high RPMs for freeway driving for now.  :grinyes:

Don't know if he is still around or making them but I got mine from a guy called Greg Sanford. grgs.rearends@yahoo.com

Depending on how original you want he converts truck rear ends so they don't have the correct machined surface for the snubber.

dana 60 hd E body mopar
new 410 ring and pinon
35 spline powerlock posi
35 spline axles
new 1350 yoke
new stock cover
Set-up for Right Stuff disc brakes. Did not include the rear disc as I bought that as a complete kit front to back, but he did sell them also.

It was right aroun $1900 back in 2010

My rims are 15x10 with 5.5" back space. I have a 1/4 spacer on the passenger side. but most every car is tight on one side to the spring or quarter.
