How to restore 3spd wiper motor?

Hey,
I've taken a look around on-line and found nothing, so does anyone know of a step by step 'how to restore 3spd wiper motor engines'?
Mine is currently wired with a mix of insulated chicken wire and real copper wire, so performance if variable to say the least. I'm essentially trying to pull out the bits of the engine and replace the wiring harness but everything inside the engine can seems relatively fragile and stuck in place.

Has anyone successfully done this before?
I'd rather do it myself than pay some else, I just don't have the money at the moment.

I fixed and cleaned mine couple of years ago. Sadly I didn't take any pictures but I still remember some things that you should pay attention while doing it. I dissassembled the gearing and the electric motor and cleaned up the gunk and rust. I also replaced some of the wires. If I recall right, the field wires are quite tricky to replace and in my motor those were in somewhat ok condition so I left them in original shape. I did fix some of the insulations there because the original ones had crumpled away.

Remember to mark the orientation of the gearbox cover because it can be installed in couple of positions for different cars. One thing that I battled with was the parking feature of the wiper motor. Inside the gear box is a mechanism that operates a longish copper contact that is used so sense when and where the wiper should park. The contact should be normally closed and the mechanism opens it (if my memory is correct). Mine was probably bent during the dissassembly and it didn't make contact so the parking was not working. E-body shop manual has some information about the wiper motor that I used to help with the troubleshooting.

Yellowfin, you wouldn't happen to have a part# for the Autozone rebuilds, would you?  Their website doesn't have any listings for "wiper motor"

I considered the fully restored option by passion4mopars, but I don't require a visually perfect window wiper motor, it would also be the cleanest thing in my engine bay!

Thanks Yellow Fin, $67 is hard to say no to. I'm now considering buying the wiper motor as opposed to wasting a couple hours fiddling.

Is that autozone 3 speed wiper motor set up for an E body with correct bulkhead plug and park location?  Also, can the 3 speed motor be used as a variable motor?

What can be expected from a 67 buck motor? One can hardly open and close it for that...let alone restore it properly

I do "repairs" as well.  If you're happy with the way it looks, I can go through it, resleeve the wires from the winding to the switch plate, make sure it's clocked correctly, gear is not broken, has three speeds and parks....granted that's more than $67, but it's not a full resto price either.  Normally $125 or under unless there's something that needs to be replaced and if that's the case, I'll take photos of the broken components and send them back with the repaired motor...as a woman I wanna see my old parts so I KNOW they were replaced  LOL  I've had shops in the past tell me I had a muffler bearing going bad.  Really?  But the rekanooter valve is good?
