Need some help from a Officer or DMV Worker.
« on: February 06, 2013 - 02:47:32 PM »
Alright so I found a 72-74 cuda and have been trying to find out if the owner would like to sell for 2 motnhs now. It's at a storage lot and the guy leasing the lot is the only one that has the owners number. But he has been playing games and feeding me bs, wasting my time.

So is there anyone on here that can look up the plate # and give me the owners name and nubmer?
Have not tried the DMV yet, not sure if they would do that.

If you can help, please PM Thanks!

You will have to go to DMV.  It is illegal for law enforcement to use databases for personal use or to further someone else's needs for unofficial business. I don't blame the Storage lot for keeping the owner information private.  Leave a note on the car and hope the owner will see it sometime.  I would be freaking mad if someone gave out my information, or ask the Storage unit mgmt if they would not mind contacting the owner to contact you.  Just leave your info with them.

I have left a note, but the owner has no reason to come check on the car since they don't care about it.

I have called this guy the lot owner about 30 times already, givin him my number 4 times. Yet he says he doesn't have my number when the owner of the car wants it. This is what I mean by him playing games..

Thought I'd try here before having to wait in line for hours to find out they probably wont help me.

I believe the DMV has to give you the information. They may charge you but I believe this
falls under the FOIA. It's a matter of public record. I know I have done it before, but it was a long time ago.

Most states no longer give out owner info at the DMV.

You're right, I should clarify. I had to send in a written request along with 7 dollars. Then the DMV
sent me the info thru the mail.

Or a bribe. Or he wants the car.

Thanks a Bunch torred.

Well the guy has told me he doesn't care for the car, but I don't believe what he says anymore.
I thought about offering some cash for the help, even though he does not deserve it but have not yet.

Think he just has problems.
