What type of car do you have? What style wing, 70 or 71 do you have, and most importantly do you have the correct trunk lid with spoiler cut-outs ? All this will determine the location of the wing.

Ok....Job might be a little more involved.
You have to determine if you have the 1970 Cuda brackets or the 1971 Cuda brackets.

The 70 brackets "fit'' the contour of the lid only in one area so it will be easy to determine the approximate location of the wing. The 71 brackets will be more difficult.

BEFORE you drill, assemble the wing and use it for measuring between the left and right uprights. Sometimes the aftermarket wings aren't exactly the same as originals.

Can you post a picture of the underside of your deck lid ? You may have one wing cut-out in the correct location already.

The bracket should fit in the square hole on the driver's side of the trunk lid with the round part of the bracket fitting the contour of the lid. That will give you the correct forward-aft positioning.

Here's another picture...I guess your existing square hole is NOT in the correct location for 70 but 71.

Hope this helps. The measurements come from an old issue of All American Racer (S.I.A.C.)
First Place Auto sells various templates. I bought the ones for a 1970 trunklid, they're about 30 bucks.
