What to do??
« on: March 10, 2005 - 11:18:49 AM »
Was talking to my cousin last night and he said he'd trade me a LD340 with heads and everything it just needs rebuilt and bored for something of mine (don't know what yet) and he also said that he would trade me my built slant six for his V8 Kmember because hes wanting to build the slant alittle more and run that in his duster....So do you think i should do the swap and dump money into rebuilding the 340 and running it in my duster. or should i just keep my slant and not spend as much?  I'm getting the 340 either way i'm just thinking i should drop it in my duster. what are your opinions??

Bigger is always better!!  I'd drop the 340 in the duster in a second...it'll be a sweet ride!

340 Duster just sounds so much better than 225 Duster......

What are your long term plans for the Duster? Only asking, because there are a lot of things besides the K-frame you'll be needing to change. If it's a long term project, then go for the V8, but if that's not the case, then maybe keep the 6 in it & save the 340 for another project later on. Maybe one of the cheapest things to do & easier than accumulating parts one by one is to snag a V8 A-Body parts car. Maybe a 318 car that doesn't run but is complete.

Off the top of my head, the big things you will need to change are:

Engine compartment wiring harness
Motor mounts
Fuel lines & hoses
Radiator & shroud
Engine accessory brackets
Transmission
Linkages for Trans & carb
Drive shaft
Exhaust system
Newburgh, New York - 12550

Walking is good for you. It's documented that for every minute you exercise, you add a minute to your life. This enables you to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $5000 per month.

Hey. i know i've got alot more to change than just k member thats why i'm kinda debating on it... slant six would be really easy to throw in there...but its going to be a long time before i get it goin. so times no matter and i can get all the wiring harness and everything else from a donor car or my uncle...all the parts and stuff are handy and i have a good tranny and linkages and everything else..TFN....the slant six was orginally his and we traded some stuff and i got it.....he's wanting it back so we are trading back maybe...i told him i wanted his LD340...Its great to have family members into mopars so you can swap and trade..
