It also looks like you trimmed them down to slid in the channel, so the kind of wedge in to the outside channels, looks great

That was the nice thing about these, that they could be easily trimmed to fit.  just save your trimming for use as shims, so that they 'pop' into the holes.

Ahh I got ya place the shims behind the fasteners so they lay flat and with a little persuasion they will pop right in,I should get this done this weekend :2thumbs:

yep, when first put them in without any shim, they would just not seat in the holes in the body.  so i slid in a cut off piece between the moulding and the clip, and Viola! they snapped right in!  And the good thing is they will pop out without tearing the clip apart like the original metal ones did.

yes they are reusable.  you have to slide them around a little to get them lined up with the holes, a little tricky, but not too bad.I also used stainless panhead screws for the end screws, don't for get those, or the whole thing could pop off over a big bump!

Waking this old thread up again as i gave myself a New Year present, a set of GC rocker panel moldings.

I wonder about the finish on these moldings. Mine are painted several times and i can see some greyish / silver paint. Stock is argent silver?

Yes, the rough textured argent.  Post some pics as you go along!

EB3, thanks, you are the man when it comes to GC:s!

So, the moldings are on my car now. Used your idea with the same plastic clips. As for the argent paint, i cannot find it over here so i used closest match of what is available locally. Thought firstly that it turned out too light but once the moldings was on the car, it looks good.
