73 Cuda 440 4 speed

Howdy,
 I have been thinking about selling the Cuda.... Not because I have to, just don't drive it enough, barely driven actually...

Details....
73 Cuda Driver, originally 340 now 440, engine long gone before I got it.
4 speed tranny, not sure if it's original and is not new process on the inside, clutch works although it does slip very mildly on hard acceleration (possibly glazed or oil on it, sat for 10 yrs so don't know)
 
8 3/4 sure grip with gear ratio unknown (haven't investigated)
 

Lost fender tag years ago, (dip**** I know!) but I remember decoding it and finding the car has everything from the factory except the correct mirrors, six way adjustable seat, and the hood pad.....

Interior is clean with the exception of the incorrect seats, front buckets are ripped at the seams, back seat in great shape. Non original headliner in great shape as is carpet
Panels are near perfect and not chalky with the exception of the passenger door
Shifter boot is ripped (happened upon the first shift after installing!)
Rallye dash is not original and has homemade switch and heater panels (used standard dash pieces) Speedo, works, tach is off, oil and temp work sometimes (Have original dash in which all gauges work/ worked perfectly)
Missing reverse indicator

Far end of right rear frame rail, has a small amount of rust but only the closest area towards bumper (I hit it with some enamel when I first got the car so it never progressed beyond minor)
Body condition, in my opinion, is excellent, trunk and floors are solid with the exception of a small, dime size hole under drivers right foot (leaking wiper seal most likely) Lower quarters have very small pinholes but are still solid. No dents, only little dings on the rest of the body
Bumpers are straight, grill is perfect with no cracks anywhere
Original color is "basin street blue" I think is what it called or B3 if you prefer
Passenger side was creamed at some point in its life resulting in a replaced door, jacked up body line on ther fender and significant bondo on the quarter although there is no evidence of major damage to it as the factory undercoat is still intact

I will upload some pics in a bit.... Don't want to lose the wall o text......... lol

aaitional info

Missing front bumperettes
Dash tag is missing although door tag and body numbers match the title
Dash that is in the car (out of a challenger and has challenger tag) is correct and in great shape although it is for an AC car, which the cuda is not...
Exhaust is ok but could use header collectors, original tips are in place
Rear original package tray had the speaker holes cut out long ago, still in good shape with the original padding underneath
Rear glass, drivers glass (from 74 Chally) and drivers quarter glass have been replaced.....

Did you know that Cudas and Challenger share driver and passenger door glass?? I didn't untill I needed one! lol

Not a bad looking car from the pictures shown. You didn't say much about the 440 engine as far as it's running condition. Provided it runs well and with all the details you've given, I would expect you could ask 12K. That would live you a little wiggle room for negotiations.

Yeah, that's about what I fingered it would be worth, as far as the 440, it runs good and doesn't leak...

It's going to be a tough sell with a Challenger vin tag on it.  :horse:

No fender tag, no vin tag wrong dash and other parts. I guess it doesn't matter that it's not # matching without
documentation. Does look like a decent car but I wouldn't think much more than 6-7k. Since you don't need to sell it
you should probably wait until the market improves.

There is no way I would sell it for less than ten as it is a real Cuda 4 speed and is more solid than any project/ driver I've seen

But it doesn't have a legal VIN TAG. Get the real vin tag and sure, it's probably worth 10k. At this point, I don't
even know if you could legally sell it.   :dunno:   I might be wrong. It won't be the first time today. lol

I didn't catch the VIN tag part when I first read this. That is definitely a very real problem and as Drew pointed out, may not be legal to sell. I'd contact the DMV in your state and see about getting the correct VIN tag. What happened to the Challenger that the VIN tag belongs to? Personally, even if I loved the car and the price was spectacular, I would not buy it with the incorrect tag. I hope you can get it worked out as it looks like a decent 'Cuda!!  :thumbsup:

First thing you need to do is go to your dmv and get it inspected and a new vintage issued before you sell it. No fender tag or build sheet means you cant document anything on the car for trim codes.  You have a street rod, no matter what the car was original now. So it will take some effort to sell it on your part to get rid of it propper.  The value drops, when original equipment is long gone.  I like the car tho  :thumbsup:

I would much rather see the vin tag on the dash match the title, rather than a fender tag.  Fender tag is a plus, but the engine is gone.  Getting pulled over in a BS plymouth and the cop sees a JH dodge kick back on his radio, ends up to some fast talking or you're walking.  Most probably walking.
