Hi from the dry southwest
« on: February 14, 2013 - 12:29:11 PM »
Hi, Just found this web site and can't wait to read all of the fun everyone is having. I've been restoring mopars for the last 6 or 7 years now. I have a 1973 Dodge charger and as of the 1st of last April, I picked up a very in need of help 1971 Challenger. I'm self taught with the help of many others on different web sites and books. When I was still in high school I had my first mopar, a Roadrunner. At that time I didn't even know just what I had. Now with more time on my hands I have found this fun hobbie. I'm looking forward to reading and seeing all of the fun that you all are having. Have a very nice day.

Azmoparboy,
Steve

Thanks for all of the nice words Guys. There is not much I know about the Challenger other than it was dark blue, it was a 4 speed big block, no fender tag. With all of the rust that the car has, it will end up just a very nice resto mod Challenger. I've already started replacing firewall, all of the floors. The guy that I got it from had started to run down large parts for it, the roof is all ate up, he got a donor roof structure, lots of other smaller donor parts, two hoods and it was media blasted too. Almost every piece of metal on this car has a rust hole in it. I have a very big job on my hands but I know I'll get finished. I really do like a big challenge. Thanks again

  Hi Steve and welcome to the site.  It's great to see another mopar getting a second chance at life again.  It is sometimes sad to see how these beauties are neglected and left for dead.  Glad you joined up and pictures are welcomed.
