    Well I went and bought another E body this weekend...

    It is the 1970 Gran Coupe Barracuda that was posted on Moparts and Craigslist.

    Original 318/904 car with A/C, power windows, overhead console, bucket seats, and all the Gran Coupe trim.

    I put a battery in to see If see would turn over and she did, sputtered a few times on starting fluid. The distributor is bad, I took it apart and its missing a retainer on the points base.oh well, I hope the have it running by this afternoon and braking by Monday. Not bad for being in a barn with other highly collectible mopars for 25+ years!

    Anyway here are some pictures. Notice the awesome leopard print headliner and console... Ok not so much haha






    This is the overhead console I am beginning to redo. So far so good. I just need to finish the corners.

    If you get a chance, please post a pic of the data plate. I find it interesting what options came with the car, the color, etc.

    I see all the A/C lines are removed.  Classic Auto Air in Tampa can reproduce some of those if you want to put A/C back in the car.

    I agree, that is a color combo not usually seen. Even if you go with another color, you gotta keep the tail panel argent!!

    Now, if only the leopard print was a factory option....   :roflsmiley:

    oh, and thanks for the pic of the data plate!  also, now i am curious.  does the P6XY interior have a black headliner or gold????  i see the trim is black.  have you seen any gold underneath?  and do you have your faux wood trim for the door panels?  Man, this could be a really sweet set-up no matter what engine you put or keep in it!

    Thanks! I plan on keeping the power windows,AC,and gran coupe wood grain (especially in the door panels,) overhead console, and the ash tray option ( rear seat armrests)

    My intent w for the car was an AAR tribute, but I'm not sure if I should sell the gran coupe exterior trim or not. The rocker trim and the tail trim are coming off more than likely.

    I also found out that the car has had the trans changed out. There is now a 727 in it. I didn't notice at first.
    Needless to say, it's not a full numbers matching car. I haven't checked the engine block yet, but will tomorrow.

    For now, the 318/727 is staying just to putt around in and keep motivation up. I will be adding the slapstick and center console I have though. I'm  also installing the power brakes I have.

    The only thing that would convince me to put it back to all original would be the build sheet. If I had that it would help to get over the fact that the trans is non- original.

    Crawling around, the wiring is great on this car. No dry rot and very little hack job wiring in it. Under the dash is near mint and the insulating jute pads are all excellent. Also, the window and door seals are in great shape.

    I worked on it today and was able to get her running! A new distributor, fuel pump, oil change, battery and cables. She now fires up with no hesitation at all. I drove it around once but the brakes are not 100%.

    Very cool!

    I figured If I was to clone a GP I'd keep the GP interior and Tail Panel, but sicne you're doing a AAR the tail panel wont work I guess.

    I love the AAR but that would also be col restored as a GP-nice score.
