What is really interesting is that under the leopard print, the rear package tray cover was black. I have no prof as to what the headliner and overhead console was originally because the fabric was removed completely and replaced with leopard :(

Their is a good chance that piece could have been changed out before the leopard print was installed. I would say that it would have been Gold to match across the back on the speaker panel to match up with the rest of the gold in the interior of the car.
Gold interior's were carried on in to 1972 E-body Mopars also, it was a bit more common in the later model cars than it would have been in 1970 and 1971 would be low productions because 1971 cars were low production to start with.
It would be a spectacular interior combo to see.

I am looking forward to seeing better pictures and how well your elbow grease mixes with the thinners to clean up those panels, it may be a good idea after you have cleaned off so it helps rejuvenate the plastic so it does not go brittle from using the thinners on the interior panels, I sure hope they clean up well, I am excited to see them in full colour properly please Blake.

P6YX interior mystery solved!

So there has been some debate as to how these two tone black and gold interiors were dressed out. Here is the evidence I have collected from my car :)

Interior window trim is black 100% with no spray over

Front and rear interior panels were gold as well as the seats.

And the final picture tells us what we have Been wondering...

Judging by all the black window trim and the black bases to the gold sun visors, I am fairly confident that the car had a black headliner and interior window trim with black dash and black carpet. It was also a bucket seat column shift car. Interesting!!

Hey Blake,  I am in agreement with you buddy. Looking at your sunvisors and seeing they have a black cover on the mounting boss, plus all your other bits and pieces you showed us, I agree.

Gold Parts:
Sunvisors
Door panels
Front seats
Rear seat

Black Parts:
Roof lining
All inner window trim
Kick Panels
All dash related parts
A-pillar trim
Sunvisor boss covers
Carpet
Centre console (If fitted)
Parcel shelf

Thanks heaps for the pictures and confirmation buddy :2thumbs:

Well I guess it's officially a 4 speed now!

I took the advice of those on this site and left the floor pan section directly above the transmission cross brace. I then took it one step further and seam welded that section to the brace for more strength. I ran out of wire so I will have to finish up tomorrow afternoon. All in all, I'm happy.

Testing some paint out of the car. Sort of Lemon twist with a pearl mid coat.

Hey Mozz,

Funny you say that because Blake's Barracuda came with leopard print fitted to the inside roof ling in this very car. :grinyes:
I pointed out a car that rolled in to the Mopar show we went to just a couple of weeks ago that had been fitted out with a vinyl leopard print roof on the exterior, it was so in your face it was outrageous. :22yikes:

After a 7 month hiatus from the car while building my house, I'm finally getting back on it!

Look at that body filler and rivet montage! Woot!
