May Issue of Mopar Muscle
« on: March 11, 2005 - 02:22:27 PM »
Hey guys, I just got my issue of Mopar Muscle today and thought this was quite amusing.  On the cover, they have a photo of a '71(?) Charger R/T and has a caption "This is a Charger!" and then they have a photo of the "new" Charger and it says, "This Ain't".  I think that's really funny they publicated that as their cover.  I can only imagine what D-C is saying about this!

I'll bet D-C isn't saying much. Then again, do they really care anyway???  :bs: The only opinion that counts seems to be theirs.  The rest of us are supposed to accept it.  :dupe:

Sorry guys, but the closest I have to a camera is my phone's camera.  Unfortunately, I don't have the adapter to upload it to my computer here at college. :'(

I actually meant to say D-C.com.  I can only imagine what they're saying about this subject, in general.  DC really needs to take our advice and quick thinking for themselves.  They aren't the ones purchasing ALL of their vehicles. :madvibe:

Street,
I know this was mentioned in another thread, but I really don't see who this Charger is aimed at. It's not a bad looking car, but... The family thing seems to be the Magnum. The Muscle machine with room for a family is the 300. So why this car? It just seems like the latest Dodge Intrepid. Again that wasn't a bad car for what it was... but WHY use the Charger name???

I saw the new Charger at the autoshow here last weekend.  It does look better in person, but the car is definitly not a Charger.  The thing is huge!

Hi,
Well IMO, the Charger name got desicrated(sp) and thrown in the trash can in the
early 80's with that piece of c$%p Charger 2.2 (Omni 2 door). You guys with Challengers must just hate the Sapporo version of the Challenger that ruined that good name! Same deal!! As lack luster as the new
Charger is, and certainly not in line with what we hoped for, its a HUGE step out of the
trash can that the 2.2 carried the Charger name into!!  With a family of 4 like I have, and the new Charger, I'd be happy to haul them around in it! In the mean time, lets hope they sell good enough
that maybe an update or two down the road will bring the Charger to a design closer to what we want.
Hemi RWD....Thats the right direction, and a good start!!  $.02    Jeff

How about MIRADA, that would tie in nicely with the Magnum.
