driver side front window upper stop bracket
« on: February 21, 2013 - 10:17:08 AM »
looking for a driver side door glass upper window stop bracket and rubber piece that bolts on to the upper rear corner of the interior part of the door.  Ours is missing and is needed for propper alignment of the door glass.  This is for our 70 challenger convertible but I am sure will be the same as the hard top doors and possibly be the same for other years.

Please either pm me or email me at Resq302( AT symbol) aol.com.

Thanks,

Brian

Mike,

Sorry, I do not have a pic.  The thing looks like a flat metal piece with the edges curved upwards and the piece angled where the rubber bumper is.  There is also an elongated hole for the adustment for a bolt to go through.  If I would have know about this before I put the pass. side door back together, I would have taken a pic of the pass side as I would imagine they are the same.

saw some glass stops on ebay , might be part of what your looking for , also saw the rubber pieces somewhere on ebay, I think they may even reproduce them

No, those are the seals for the top area of where the door gasket goes where it meets the glass.  The piece I am looking for is a flat metal piece with an elongated hole in the middle for adustment and has a hard rubber block on the end of it where it makes contact with the window glass.

that may be to 70 to 71 or maybe even because yours is a convertible it is different , I have read that the early years had some small  differences .
Is it what the window contacts and stops in the up position ?

Yes.   It could very well be a 70-71 part.  Im pretty sure the doors were the same for hard top and verts.  I remember hearing that they changed some interior channel parts around inside the door for maybe 71 and later but I would think that this part would have remained the same.  There is a plastic rod (if you will) that pops into the glass and gets held in place by a screw that expands the plastic.  The metal piece with the rubber makes contact with the plastic piece in the window to stop the window from going up too far.

Mike,

Thanks for the reply but dad and I were able to get one from a mutual friend of ours.  Sorry for the delay in the response.
