shaved doors
« on: February 26, 2013 - 10:34:10 PM »
Got a few questions. Is it hard to install and shave the doors. Also I don't exactly know what the pound rating in the description. Is that opening power or how much the kit weighs. Does anyone know of tried and true kits that have been used. I searched it on the forum with little success.

:clueless: are you talking about shaved door handles?  Can you post a link the the kit you are talking about?

Most "shaved" door handle kits use a Solenoid to pop the lock, it should take much force.

Ok, that is what I though you were talking about.  The solenoid 50 lbs of pulling force is for pulling the latch.  It should work on an E-Body.  You could check the pulling force by using a hanging scale http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/weston-sportsmans-300.html (something like this) and a string to pull the latch to see how much force it takes.
