hello, alex richardson from n.c.  i have.. n e v e r  ..  owned a mopar but always loved them..so i am going to try and buy one..eventually..! tomorrow i am goin to look at a 1970 cuda that the man says is a factory 340  4 speed car..although the motor is gone the tranny is there..however.. its in pretty bad shape..needs floors and trunk, probably lots of other body work, rear glass is gone, says all interior is there but not in the car, says the rear frame rails are decent but will need a little work.  OH.. and he has not got the title..says he can get it..?? will find out more on that as well as verify numbers on the car in the morning.  Now my question is..he is asking $4000.00 for this unit..and i want to know if that is fair..  i mean how far is too far gone to restore..?  i know its hard to tell anything with out pics..but he took his ad down.. i will take some pics tomorrow and post..thanks for any help you could give..alex

go check on the car first and take loads of pics. 4k sounds like a reasonable starting point, unless its a total rust bucket of course. With all available sheet metal these days, almost anything can be repaired fairly easy.  I would make sure cowl - firewall , frame rails and inner roof structure are in good shape, you will need more than a welder and hammer to get that straightened out.  Many rear frame rail rot out from the trunk floor being toast and up front, leaky batteries can cause trouble inside the driver side.  A good grill is a plus also...

Welcome to the site and good luck in your quest! See if the ID plate is still screwed to the top of the lft inr fndr and take a good pic of it. There're lads here who can tell you everything about that car, except for the middle name of the guy who put the wheels on, if you do. Good luck

here are some pics from this morning..this car is VERY rusty..looks like every piece of sheet metal will need alot of work..the firewall also has a fair amount of rust, he has come down to  $2800.00.. but how far is TOO far gone..?

Looks like a cool project.

First glance I thought it was one of those M46 cars with the side scoops, or what ever the code was for that.  Looks like it is just custom paint I guess, not the lower rocker black out..

Welcome to the site.  Certainly not to far gone IMO.  We have seen alot worse on the site and some of the members have brought them back to life  . . . . as for the price . . . try to haggle for a lower price but not that bad at 4K.

if hes down to 2800 id definitely say go for it.  we have lots of members here who could build these things with their eyes closed.  we also have some companies that help us out who sell damn near every single piece to make these cars from scratch.  bring that one back to life!
