    hello to all ---- Just to follow up with some additional info.....

    VIN - BS23N0B......
    Fender Tag:
    N42 R11 Y05 EN1
    L31 M21 M25 M31 M36 N43
    VX1 A01 C16 C55 J45 J54
    FK3 H6X9 000 115 071709
    E63 D21 BS23 N0B ......

    Does anyone know of any good sites to go to for the tag decoding ? I'am okay with the VIN, but need a little more info on the tag......

    E63= 383hp, D21=4spd,
    FK3=Burnt Orange metallic, H6X9=black vinyl bucket interior, 000 upper door frame color(no UDF), 115=scheduled production date of Jan 15,1970
    VX1=Black vinyl roof, AO1=light pkg, C16=console, C55=buckets, J45=hood tie downs, J54= sprt hood.
    L31=fender turn signal lights, M21=drip rail mldngs, M25=body sill mldngs,M31=body belt mouldings, M36=?,M43=grille trim mldngs, N42=bright exh tips,R11=AM radio, Y05=build to USA specs. EN1=end of codes.

    EN1 - End of codes, assembly line 1. I have a few questions......

    Is N43 actually N41?

    Is M36 actually M88?

    Is FK3 actually FK5?

    VX1 must be V1X.

    The tags can be hard to read, especailly if rusty or if many layers of paint have been applied over the years. You  may have to remove it and look at the back side if this is the case.

    N43 - is N41   (Dual Exhaust)
    M36 - looks like M88 (DeckLid Moldings Treatment) ????  What made you guess this anyway ?
    FK3 is FK5 (Deep Burnt Orange) I miss-typed on original post.
    VX1 is V1X (Black Vinyl Roof) --(miss-type)  Although the vinyl roof is long gone. It was taken off by the previous owner.... In 1982..............

    I have looked at thousands of 1970 tags over the years, I can usually deterimine what should be what on hard to read tags or when typos are made. It just comes naturally after a while. Yeah, I know, I need to get out more.  :wasted: LOL
