Thanks JHC for the advice, means more considering your occupation!  ;)  Thanks everyone else for your thoughts and prayers! :sadwavey:  My head is spinning here, never been in this position before.  Sounds like a road trip back down to Texas to get another Burb is in our future!  I'm hoping the insurance company doesn't screw us around! :clueless:

Hey Brad, Glad everyone appears okay.  It sucks when someone has to suffer because of carelessness of another.

Brad, I'm glad your wife and her friend are OK.  M/V crashes are a big deal and I've seen a lot of them.  In my experience people are usually "fine" at the time and for a while after due to adrenaline and the "I'm OK!" mentality.  Injuries typically show up the next day when people have had a chance to rest.  By all means get her to the doctor for a thorough checkup.  She may end up with mystery pains months or years down the road and with no clear connection to this crash insurance will deny all claims and you're on the hook for any medical problems/bills, lost work etc.  I never recommend lawyers for anything but if someone gets hurt out of the blue because someone else was screwing around (drunk driving etc) I have no problems making them pay.

:iagree: This is exactly what I was thinking! JHC has a much better way with words than I!

Wow that sucks!  I have a suburban as well and that is one of the reasons I bought it was because it was so big and would be safer in an accident.

Ya I'm quite certain things would be much "grimmer" if she was not driving that big old tank! :scared:

Wow! Glad your wife is ok Brad! Did she go to the hospital at all? If not she should get checked out just to make sure there is nothing wrong and have some sort of documentation for the insurance companies, if they try to play hard ball on any medical claims that could arise from this. Bottom line though I am so glad to hear she is ok cars can be replaced loved ones not so much!  :angelwings:
Brad, I agree with this. Have her and her friend go to the er and get this on record. As with my car accident my back and neck got worse as the week went on .  But you need to have medical records just in case.  :2thumbs:   The wreck looks really bad . I am so glad to see that your wife and friend seem to be doing well.  :angelwings:

Glad to hear your wife and friend are O.K. Brad. That's a terrible wreck.
Like others said, the Tank did it's job saving them from serious injuries.

Wow! This is exactly why we chose a Suburban for my wife's dailly driver. I'm glad to hear she and her friend are okay, and would also agree that a follow up check with medical personnel is in order to ensure thins are simply bumps and bruises.

Yes, lots of work ahead still. Hang tough. We're here if you need us.

I went over to the towing yard today to clean it out . I gave her a little pat on  hood and thanked her for protecting my wife. :sadwavey: ....... and then said I hope she enjoyed her new reincarnated life as 25 new smart cars!
Really it took the side impact really well! The traffic light pole.... not so much. Well all things considered I guess it did.  I was told the other car hit first at the passenger side front wheel/fender , then swung around and clipped the rear of the burb. The other car was there too. The front end was literally about 18" long!  :eek4:
At least I " did the right thing" and got a Mopar for a rental car.....minivan Yuck! LOL
