The wife just got in a bad wreck, wrote off the Suburban
« on: March 02, 2013 - 03:24:30 AM »
Quite a night here tonight. The wife was out at a girlfriends house and on the way home  someone ran a red light and t boned my wife, shoving her into the traffic light knocking it down then into another car. The other driver was charged. The wife "seems" Ok she is pretty sore and  quite shook up as is her friend that was riding with her.  I am too I guess, can't sleep especially after seeing the pictures of whats left of the Suburban. I'm soooo glad I insisted on a big tank , otherwise I think she would have died. The Suburban did it's job! I'll post up pictures if/when I can figure how to get them off the wifes phone. It was a late model Charger that hit her. That is a mess/totalled too. Cop figures the other driver was doing about 80KPH when she hit my wife. I haven't heard but it wouldn't surprise me if she was drunk? Lots of witnesses at the scene....

Thanks Russ. It's moments like this  that make me not care one bit what gas costs for this old tank.

Scary stuff foresure, glad your wife and her friend are ok. If you think about it driving is one of the most dangerous things that people do on a daily basis. The outcome of driving can be out of our control completely. :angelwings:

Thanks for the moral support guys. I didn't get to bed till after 4am.....up 4 hours later. The wife is really sore all over she is saying. I don't know what to do for her. She is a pretty tough cookie and never complains about pain so if she is saying so then she really must be. So much to do.... phone insurance company, see about a rental car etc...

Wow! Glad your wife is ok Brad! Did she go to the hospital at all? If not she should get checked out just to make sure there is nothing wrong and have some sort of documentation for the insurance companies, if they try to play hard ball on any medical claims that could arise from this. Bottom line though I am so glad to hear she is ok cars can be replaced loved ones not so much!  :angelwings:

Brad, I'm glad your wife and her friend are OK.  M/V crashes are a big deal and I've seen a lot of them.  In my experience people are usually "fine" at the time and for a while after due to adrenaline and the "I'm OK!" mentality.  Injuries typically show up the next day when people have had a chance to rest.  By all means get her to the doctor for a thorough checkup.  She may end up with mystery pains months or years down the road and with no clear connection to this crash insurance will deny all claims and you're on the hook for any medical problems/bills, lost work etc.  I never recommend lawyers for anything but if someone gets hurt out of the blue because someone else was screwing around (drunk driving etc) I have no problems making them pay.

Brad, so sorry to hear this. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your wife. Certainly hope no after effects
show up. A bit of ibuprofen might help with the pain. Good luck to you and the family.   :sadwavey:
