Restauring wiper motor
« on: March 03, 2013 - 05:09:04 PM »
I know alot of people give their wiper motors away to get fixed. But i have a wiper motor that works perfectly fine but its kinda dirty on the outside. how to you get that zinc plating finish. And what is the proper color for the housing all i want to do is take it off the car and paint it and make it look half descent. I also wouldnt mind knowing if i ever did need to rebuild it where i can find these kind of parts for a complete rebuild of a wiper motor or an alternator.

I thought I answered all your color questions in pm except the housing, which is aluminum, which stays aluminum??  Barrel/cylinder is yellow zinc, brush cap, screws, harness hold down is clear zinc.  The housing just gets cleaned up and stays cast aluminum.
