I checked a bunch of tags I have records of and all the ones I have show E65 for a 1971 383.  That doesn't mean there's not a real 1971 ebody tag with E63 on it, it just means I haven't seen one yet.  Barry Washington has a TON more records of tags and would most likely know if E63 was a code used on ebodies in 1971.

Out of the 478 Fender Tags I have records of I can't seem to find any with A47 on it.  This tag has A47 on it and I have never seen that code on an ebody.  Since I don't get in to convertibles much, is this a convertible code?  What is A47 mean on an ebody?

So would that mean that this tag is fake? It has an E63 on a 71 Convertible.
P.S. THis is not my tag just an example of a E63 on a 71 Car.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

A47 is not an E-body code, only for B and C-bodys.

The point you have made and continue to do so is how upset you are at discovering your suspect vin tag as others continue to point out

Thanks for proving my point.

:iagree: with Culvers, not a code for E-body.

There are so many things wrong w/this tag.

I say, don't bother revealing more.  He'll just have another made w/most (but probably not all) wrong things corrected.

Anybody know why this tag has an A62?  Does it have to do with the B in the VON?

So does being a canadian car make the A62 a valid option for a 71 R/T?

Nothing to do with the VON.

"A62" is the fairly common "Rallye Instrument Guage Package" - rallye guage cluster, woodgrain applique, variable speed windshield washers and electric windshield washer pump.

BTW ... love that GF3 Amber Sherwood Green color

I thought the Rallye gauge package was standard on the 71 r/t and therefore the A62 was not called out on the tag.  I guess I was wrong.

Greek mythology, Icarus (the Latin spelling, conventionally adopted in English; Ancient Greek: Ἴκαρος, Íkaros, Etruscan: Vikare[1]) is the son of the master craftsman Daedalus.

The main story told about Icarus is his attempt to escape from Crete by means of wings that his father constructed from feathers and wax. He ignored instructions not to fly too close to the sun, and the melting wax caused him to fall into the sea where he drowned.

Like trying to get too close to making real tags and then falling.
