looking for ANY mopar under around 15 grand
« on: March 06, 2013 - 09:08:01 PM »
Don't have too much $$ so my budget is limited, but if you can find a Mopar that drives for a reasonable price then please let me know. I am in HS for those that do not know and am getting a second job soon, I need a car to get around and I have the money from the job im working now. Ive grown up around cars and a mopar atmosphere so i hope to get one of my own.  (job im working now is exterior/interior painting and i have done quite a bit of driving all around to the paint jobs in my fathers van so i don't want anyone thinging im some naive kid that would wreck a mopar the day i got it, i have driven these cars before and have worked on them, my next job actually involves work like this, im being hired since i am so good at it  :grinyes: ) but yes PLEASE if you find a dart, duster, satellite, belvedere, challenger, charger, cuda, any 2 door working mopar Id like to know. thank you everyone!

Were are you located ? My buddy that just bought my 92 Daytona 2.5 5 speed. Very well maintained car.but a Dodge peeler. He is getting ready to sell it. Most dependable car I ever owned. Only reason I sold it was because I broke my left femar and it was a stick. He is selling it because his parents are giving him their Honda that is 5 yrs old.

That shouldn't be too tough to do so long as you keep the model and year range somewhat open. You probably wont find an E body, Road Runner, Charger or Super Bee in that price range, but it will certainly be possible in the 62-67 range of A, B, and C bodies and in the 73-80 range for A, B, C, F, J, M, and R bodies.
Yeah I have seen a lot of dusters and satellites for cheap that are in the $5000-12000 range. I am actually looking at two right now, a 74 satellite and a 73 duster.boyh pretty close to my house. Should probably call them.

I know it's not what you are exactly asking for, but I thought I would at least post this.
I really like the car.  Wish I could pick it up.
4 doors isn't so bad.     :stirpot:   I've had several.        Just as much fun as a 2 door.  :burnout:

Yeah I dont know if I would be willing to go up there for a car. Mostly southern states is where im looking. Its nerve racking looking all over :roflsmiley: my mother suggested I just get a nice old chevy with a 350...my father extremely disagreed (we follow the mopar or no car philosophy  :bigshades: )

heres a 350 4spd duster on www.protouringmopar.com in north carolina, $5500
heres the link to his ad with pics

http://www.protouringmopar.com/showthread.php?1212-76-Duster-360-4spd

76 Duster 360 4spd
This has got to be the most SOLID Duster I have ever seen. The floors, trunk pan, rockers
ect are not rusty! I did repair the lower right quarter behind the wheel (butt welded steel patch)
and a couple small patches on the driver side lower quarter. The tail light panel had a small
patch on the left point by the light.

The 360 is fresh (about 1 hour on it) .030 over, rings, rods, mains, melling pump, double roller chain,
Comp Cams XE268 cam and lifters. Full gaskets, ProComp airgap, Carter Comp series 750 (jetted rich right now so you will need to tune it). Jegs air filter, Fabed aluminum valve covers, 360 heads.
Flowtech headers, full 2.5" exhaust with turbo mufflers (quiet but good sounding).
Lakewood/Mopar scatter shield, new fylwheel, new clutch, Pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bushing.

The trans is a aluminum main case 833 with overdrive 4th gear and a Hurst Comp plus shifter with plain
white knob and the shifter boot was installed after these pics were taken.
The rear is the stock 6cyl nothing special!

The interior, front seat needs cover, dash pad has a couple cracks, the cluster trim is broken on the lower
left side. The carpet is worn some not not bad. Door panels are fine, stereo comes on but the
door speakers are junk and the rears are not hooked up.

The tires are in great shape on 14" steel wheels with dog dish caps. Brakes are power and
solid. Power steering is fine. All the under dash A/C parts are there but no compressor.

OK that was the good now for the bad!!
The paint is ok but I forgot to block it out and because of that I missed dents and
and it has grit in the roof and hood. You can use it like it is or repaint (matching the
color is no problem as it is a stock color from a national paint supplier.
You will need to install the speedometer cable.
Needs new door weather strip (the part on the door only).
The boots on the ball joints are split but they seem fine. also needs one amber front corner marker.

The right headlight bezel has been installed along with the wiper arms/blades and the left signal lens.

$5500 nego, no trades

sweet car but automatic is what I am looking for. Stick is the most annoying thing where i live due to the way the roads are, I live off the highway but there are alot of places and it hard to describe but the speed limit is constantly changing, if i lived in a more rural area stick would be fine but its not that practical for my area. sweet car though, but as you guys can see my options are really this:model year 66-74, automatic, under 12G, and driving. You guys don,t have to go searching for me, its fine but if something pops up im here

You should be able to find a challenger in that price range.  Keep looking.

Vids hunter is right, if ur willing to spend 12k you should be able to find a 72-74 challenger driver for tht, I only paid 5k for mine, I know I got a smoking deal, but if I was gonna sell it tomorrow I would put it up for 12-15k.  Just gonna take some patience and searching
